SEED PURCHASE SCHEME

These schemes are intended for individual small planters. Planters make a minimum payment of 10% of the cost of seed purchased at the Agricultural Marketing Board (AMB). The remaining amount are paid without interest after beneficiaries have harvested their crops.

SEED POTATO PURCHASE SCHEME

1. PURPOSE OF THE SCHEME

This scheme is intended for individual small planters. It aims at alleviating the significantly high financial cost involved in the purchase of potato seeds by providing a source of funding.

2. DETAILS OF THE SCHEME

  • Planters will have to make a minimum part payment of 10% of the cost of seed purchased at the Agricultural Marketing Board (AMB).
  • The remaining amount shall be paid without interest after beneficiaries have harvested their crops.

3. BENEFICIARIES

Planters must be registered with either the Small Farmers Welfare Fund (SFWF) or the Sugar Insurance Fund Board (SIFB).

4. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Field of beneficiary should be situated in regions suitable to potato cultivation as recommended by The Food and Agricultural Research and Extension Institute (FAREI).

ONION SEED PURCHASE SCHEME

1. PURPOSE OF THE SCHEME

This scheme is intended for individual small planters. It aims at alleviating the significantly high financial cost involved in the purchase of onion seeds by providing a source of funding.

2. DETAILS OF THE SCHEME

  • Planters will have to make a minimum part payment of 10% of the cost of seed purchased at the Agricultural Marketing Board (AMB).
  • The remaining amount shall be paid without interest after beneficiaries have harvested their crop.

3. BENEFICIARIES
